Job Summary

The Fleet Analyst supports fleet operations through data analysis, cost monitoring, compliance tracking, and performance reporting to improve vehicle utilization, reduce operating costs, and ensure regulatory compliance across the fleet.

Job Details

Fleet Cost & Performance Analysis

  • Conduct cost control and budget performance analysis for fleet operations, including fuel, maintenance, and spare parts.
  • Track and analyze vehicle operating costs and highlight cost-saving opportunities.
  • Periodically review spare part pricing against market benchmarks to ensure optimal quality and cost efficiency.

Fleet Operations & Maintenance Support

  • Support the design and monitoring of vehicle maintenance and fuel management programs.
  • Maintain and analyze vehicle servicing and inspection records to anticipate maintenance needs and minimize downtime.
  • Assist in developing and tracking the monthly preventive maintenance schedule for all company vehicles.
  • Monitor vehicle availability and utilization to support operational efficiency.

Data Tracking & Reporting

  • Track fleet performance metrics using GPS and telematics systems, including: Vehicle availability, Idle time, Speeding and driving behaviour incidents
  • Generate weekly and monthly fleet performance reports with insights and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date fleet databases and dashboards.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Support vehicle registration and licensing processes to ensure full legal compliance.
  • Ensure all fleet documentation (insurance, inspections, licenses) is properly tracked and up to date.
  • Assist with audit preparation by providing fleet data and compliance records.

Operational Support

  • Analyze driver schedules and routing data to identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency improvements.
  • Work closely with the Fleet Manager and Logistics team to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making in fleet expansion or replacement planning.

Requirements

  • BSc / HND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Additional certification or qualification in Logistics, Fleet, or Supply Chain Management is an advantage.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in fleet operations, logistics analysis, or transport management.
  • Strong understanding of distribution and logistics operations.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and fleet management / GPS tracking systems.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on cost optimization and efficiency.
